As part of their Perimeter Series, 5BBC is doing a SI perimeter jointly with SIBA. This means that any SIBA member is welcome to join & 5BBC membership is not required. Since the 5BBC members come by ferry, the start location will be across the street from the ferry on the steps of the Staten Island Bourough Hall. Pace will typically be B & C. 5BBC practices point drop sweep on their rides so if slower folks are riding, the sweep rides behind them. The ride leader (me) and a sweep (Toby) that keeps the group inside. Riders at the front will get asked to "drop" to guide the way for the slower paced folks. You can leave your drop post ONLY WHEN THE SWEEP SAYS "RELEASE". So if a mechanical problem arises and the sweep takes a while, you have to stay at your post unless otherwise directed. (Not everyone knows the route!) No formal lunch stops on this ride but we have few of our regular stopping points along the way for food / bathroom breaks. Meet up time is 9:30AM. Please be prompt so we can do the bike check and get started ASAP. If you do not want to participate and still want to do the perimeter...go for it. Standard SIBA coordination applies.
